Walker College Scholarships - International Programs
Short-term Study Abroad
All applicants must have applied for a WCOB International Study Abroad program.
Please note - ALL International/Study Abroad scholarships require a separate application different from the overall scholarship application process.
Scholarships for short-term, faculty-led programs range from $100 to $1,000. They will be considered for all of the scholarships below for which they are eligible. Application deadlines are as follows:
- Winter/Spring programs: November 30
- Summer Programs: March 31
- Fall Programs: September 30
Scholarships
Allen Study Abroad Scholarship
Requirements:
- Need based, 3.0 GPA expected, preference given to entrepreneurship programs
Explore Yosef WCOB Study Abroad Scholarship
Requirements:
- Must be traveling to a developing country
First Citizens International Endowed Scholarship
Requirements:
- Must be a legal NC resident
- 2.5 Minimum GPA
- Allocation based on overall GPA, extra-curricular activities and financial need
John A. Reeder Memorial Study Abroad Scholarship
Requirements:
- 2.0 minimum GPA
- Financial need considered
Bryan and Billie Toney Study Abroad Scholarship
Requirements:
- Must have applied for a Walker College of Business International Study Abroad program
- Must demonstrate financial need
- 3.0 minimum GPA
- Preference given to trips directed at entrepreneurship programs
International Internships
AIESEC Scholarship
Requirements:
- Applicant must be a member of AIESEC. To apply, please write a one-page essay describing contributions to AIESEC and your internship plans. It should be emailed to Lynn Compagnone.
Semester, long-term Programs
FIPSE Brazil
Applicants must have taken at least two semesters of Portuguese (or be approved by the Department of Foreign Languages), and take at least one sustainability-related course while in Brazil. Brazilian partner institutions are Universidade do Estado de Amazonas in Manaus, Universidade de Fortaleza in Fortaleza or Universidade Federal Rural de Permanbuco in Recife. Stipends are normally $2,000. An additional $1,000 stipend is available for pre-semester Portuguese instruction in Brazil.

FIPSE Atlantis (SMEEE)
The Small and Medium Enterprise Entrepreneurship Education (SMEEE) grant is available to students studying at the Universidad de Alicante (Spain), Otto-Freidrich-Universitat Bamberg (Germany) or Universite Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). Students must spend at least a semester at one of these institutions and enroll in at least one entrepreneurship course. Stipends are usually between $500 and $1,000 per semester and $2500-$3000 per year.
Deadline is February 1 for the full-year and September 1 for the spring term abroad. Contact Meredith Church for more information.
