Join the Dean's Club
The Dean’s Club is an annual giving society designed to benefit business students and faculty while enhancing the college’s academic programs. Membership is open to Walker alumni and friends and begins with a minimum annual contribution of $1,000. Contributions provide support for critical needs in the college such as student scholarships, travel funds for faculty and students to attend course-related conferences and to visit corporations, seed money for new programs, and resources to bring guest lecturers - leaders in business and government - to the classroom. Pledges are accepted, and your gift may also be satisfied with a corporate matching donation. [ more ]

Support Peacock Professorship
The Kenneth E. Peacock Accounting Professorship has been established to recognize Chancellor Peacock’s many contributions to the Walker College of Business and Appalachian State University. Once funded, the professorship will be awarded to an outstanding faculty member in the Accounting Department to enhance the services and instruction offered to students. [ more ]

Endowed Scholarship Opportunities
Walker students often benefit from scholarships funded by alumni and friends of Appalachian, but the need for additional support is great. Only 10% of the 2,300 students enrolled in the college receive scholarship funding. This support is critical and has a great impact on the students who receive these scholarships. Support an existing scholarship or create a new scholarship in someone’s honor or memory to support future Walker students.

Students' 90-second Pitch During the 5th Annual Entrepreneur Summit Could Lead to Business Success: 20 Appalachian students will be selected to compete in a business idea contest during the Carole Moore McLeod Entrepreneur Summit on Oct. 27 in Raley Hall. The winner will receive a $1,000 award. Several former contest finalists have begun new businesses that are operating today.

Meet at the Rock on Oct. 28 to Support Your Mountaineers: Join Walker College faculty and staff for a pre-game reception for alumni, friends and family at the Quinn Center Patio on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 1:30-3:00 pm. Walker College of Business alums are eligible for discounted tickets and can enter to win door prizes at the reception.

State Treasurer Urges New Walker Grads to Become Leaders, Make a Difference: N.C. State Treasurer Richard Moore addressed Walker College of Business students during the May 6 commencement ceremony. Moore told graduates to create opportunities for success and public service in their careers and communities.

Outstanding Faculty Recognized: Four faculty members have received the college’s 2006 Award for Excellence. Dr. Steven Millsaps received the award for teaching; Dr. Charlie Chen was honored for his research contributions; and the award for excellence in service was presented to Dr. Albert Harris. Roderic Baker was honored as the outstanding non-tenured faculty member.
