Dr. Al Harris
Dr. Al Harris, professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems, was awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at the University of Évora in Évora, Portugal, a public university located about 100 miles east of Lisbon. Harris will spend April-July 2006 at the university teaching a graduate class in information systems, working with students and faculty on research projects, and working with students on their master’s theses. He will also collect information for a global study on ethics sensitivity in the information systems field.
Dr. Betty Coffey
Dr. Betty S. Coffey, professor of management, was awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant in 2004 to develop a strategic management course for the MBA program at Sichuan University in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. Dr. Coffey was invited to the China National Forum for Graduate Education hosted by Nanjing University to discuss the benefits of case studies and service learning in graduate education. She presented a paper at the 5th International Conference on Management held in Macau, SAR, China and served as a discussant and session chair. Established in 1946 under legislation introduced by the late Senator J. William Fulbright, the Fulbright program’s purpose is to build mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries.
Mr. Bryan Toney
Mr. Bryan Toney is campus director of the SMEEE (Small and Medium Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Education) consortium, a three-year program which is jointly funded by the Fund for the Improvement of Post Secondary Education (FIPSE) and the Economic Community (EC). As a participant in the six-member consortium, universities work together to promote faculty/student exchanges between American and European universities.
