Insurance Executive Program

IEP logoThe Insurance Executive Program is an intensive management development program designed specifically for independent insurance agency managers.  The 2010 program will be held May 16-21 on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus. Participants will be housed and classes held at the historic Carolina Inn.

Description

This intensive management development program is held mid May. It begins on Sunday and students depart on Friday afternoon. In addition to daily classes, group interactions are held most evenings. Class size is limited due to the Program’s format, which allows for individual participation. The cost of the Program is $3,000 and includes tuition, materials, lodging and lunches. Scholarship opportunities from insurance carriers may be available.

The Insurance Executive Program is an academic program that combines practical and theoretical concepts to maximize students’ knowledge and understanding of superior management practices.  Sessions are taught by college faculty and industry experts to assure that the material is pertinent and applicable.  Participation is an investment that will enhance agency values.

Participants are housed - and classes are held - at the Carolina Inn on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and has been modernized with elegant facilities and amenities, which complement the beauty of its grounds and architecture. It features 184 charming and well-appointed guest rooms including 7 luxury suites and a four star restaurant, The Carolina Crossroads, which offers breakfast and dinner services.

Guests will also be able to enjoy access to Wi-Fi service, the fitness facilities, and onsite gift shop while attending the program.

Scholarships

Students wishing to attend the Insurance Executive Program may pursue scholarship opportunities with their insurance carriers.  All companies are invited and encouraged to participate as a demonstration of their investment in the American Agency System.

Underwriting companies have contributed grants to the Program, which entitles them to sponsor four participants, one of which may be a company employee. The grant covers the entire cost of the program except transportation, meals and incidentals.

Companies who have recently committed to the Program are listed to the right. Their support is greatly appreciated. If your carriers are not listed, please have them contact Dr. David Wood, Program Director, at 828-262-6234 to learn how to participate.

It is possible to attend the Program without a company scholarship. However, due to the structure of the Program and the high level of individual participation, class size is limited.
