Dr. Charles Oswald

J.S.D., St. Thomas University School of Law

Dr. Charles Oswald, J.S.D., joined ASU in 2008 and teaches in the Finance, Banking & Insurance Department of the Walker College of Business.

Principal member at CEO Law LLC, Dr. Oswald was formerly co-managing director and senior vice president of a Lehman Brothers portfolio company and served as an officer and executive at multinational companies engaged in aerospace, biotech, chemical, defense and other businesses including Alliant Techsystems, Inc., CP Kelco ApS, Hercules Incorporated and the Whittaker Corporation for 25 years.

During that period, he held US national security clearances to top secret with special SCI access and served as corporate delegate to global trade policy organizations including the Aerospace Industries Association, Danish-American Business Forum, India Interest Group and US-China Business Council.

His experience includes leading competitive initiatives to develop, negotiate, acquire and manage contracts, programs, projects and companies in over 30 countries worldwide while navigating global AML, antitrust, banking, business development, compliance, ethics, FAR, finance, governance, HR, IT, integration, IP, litigation, M&A, regulatory, risk, security, strategic, structural and tax complexities.

Admitted to practice law before the US Court of International Trade in New York, the US Court of Federal Claims in Washington DC, US District Courts and all Courts of the State of North Carolina as well as an active member in good standing of the American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association and International Bar Association, Dr. Oswald completed his postgraduate studies at the St. Thomas University School of Law to receive a Doctor of Juridical Science degree, with recent scholarship exploring global business, banking, finance and legal interdependencies.
