Airport & Hotel Information

AIRPORT SERVICE

Charlotte Douglas International (CLT) is the largest airport.  From CLT, the drive is easy and scenic to Boone.  Take I-85 S (about 15 miles) and turn on to 321 N (about 70 miles) to Boone.

Piedmont-Triad International Airport (GSO) west of Greensboro NC is generally the least expensive and most convenient.  The Greensboro airport is also an easy 2 hour drive to Boone.  Take I-40 W (about 21 miles) and merge on to 421 N (about 35 miles, take bypass around Winston-Salem) to Boone.

Tri-Cities Regional Airport (TRI) in Blountville TN is approximately 90 minutes from Boone, but the drive to Boone is far from a straight shot.  It can be quite an  adventurous drive along 421.  There are alternative routes we can provide if interested.
