Three teams (Appalachian State University, Kansas State University and Virginia Tech) were selected for the final phase of the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) competition. The teams presented their comprehensive case to approximately 200 practitioners attending the IARFC Conference. After the ballots of the practitioners were counted, the IARFC awarded the ASU team first place. (View photos)
Both teams were selected from Financial Planning (FIN 4580), a capstone class for the Financial Planning Certificate Program in the Walker College of Business.
Ivan C. Roten, CFPR, instructor of the Financial Planning Class and director of the Financial Planning Center, mentored the teams in preparing for the competitions, and escorted them there.
