The initial research phase was designed to collect baseline data. Future longitudinal research will measure economic impacts trends and marketing trends of Blue Ridge National Heritage Area visitors. It is hoped that data from these reports will help shape tourism marketing plans, economic impact estimates of specific attractions, and strategic planning efforts in the 25-county region of western North Carolina.
