As noted earlier, the latest issue of Appalachian Today includes a story focused on Appalachian State alumni now working as successful entrepreneurs. The issue is now online.

The cover story is headlined, “Entrepreneurs help shape the new economy.” Among the alumni - and one student - featured are Reglan Brewer ‘98, Traci Whiteside ‘95, Jay Parr, Debi Golembieski ‘99, Christie Fredenburg ‘00, Hal Kivette ‘06 MKT and Graham Bunn ‘03 MGT.
Here’s an excerpt from the profile of Kivette and Bunn, who created 46NYC LC. (page 17)
“Through 46NYC we’re committed to giving ‘4’ the benefit of ‘6’ areas of need that impact children around the world: abuse, poverty, disease, birth defects, education and nutrition,” Bunn said, explaining the company’s goal and clever logo. John McGinn of Boone is the third partner in the business.
“We wanted to create something that would capture people’s interest right off the bat. 46NYC has done that. Selling a shirt with a sports theme on it isn’t hard. Attaching a charitable cause attracts even more attention. Outside of a products’ identity, concept marketing is what drives a business,” Bunn said.
