Advising the Business Leaders of Tomorrow

(Grad Audit: Students finishing course work in spring 2010 or summer 2010 must submit an online request for a graduation audit by September 18th. Late audit requests can be submitted after September 18th, but late audits will not be completed until after early registration.)

(Basic Computer Skills Proficiency Test: Registration for the October 28th and 29th Computer Proficiency Test is now closed. The next test dates are January 8th and 11th. Registration for that test will open on December 7th.

The Walker College of Business Academic Advising Center is dedicated to assisting business students with academic planning, registration and graduation audits. The office is also responsible for the regular maintenance of all student records, reviewing enrollment in all business courses to be sure prerequisites have been met, monitoring of student's academic status and processing of graduation applications.

Among our many service we offer:

- professional advisors who can speak with students regarding academic concerns and degree requirements.

- assistance in planning strategies for improving the GPA for students experiencing academic difficulty.

- assistance for students who are having trouble with registration.

- comprehensive information on the advising website including "Advising Tips" for students who cannot see a business advisor prior to Early Registration..

Business majors who want to meet with a business advisor should go to 2126 Raley Hall and sign up in one of the "Advising" appointment notebooks in the service window. Business majors (with the exception of international business majors) do not have assigned advisors. International business majors should make an appointment with Dr. Bob Goddard, Director of the International Business major or Ms. Penny Kuzyszyn. All other business majors can make an appointment with any of the other business advisors.

COB students are not required to see an advisor before registering for classes; declared business majors are expected to complete an online orientation program before registering the first time after their files have moved to the COB. Although there is not required advising for business students, we strongly urge students to see a business advisor periodically in order to be sure of a timely graduation.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COMPUTER PROFICIENCY -- CIS 110 from any North Carolina community college has been approved as equivalent to CIS 2025 at ASU and will cover the computer proficiency requirement for admission to the COB.
